Four-part perspective process
Determine the narrator’s, character’s, speaker’s, or author’s point of view, purpose, cultural lens, or intended meaning.
Select the two textual details that most directly establish or contrast the perspective.
Analyze how the author develops, contrasts, acknowledges, responds, withholds, or uses rhetoric.
Analyze how the perspective or rhetorical choice creates suspense, humor, credibility, persuasion, power, or beauty.
